چکیده

(A) Prominent filling defect at the floor of the proximal left anterio septal perforating branch. Left main coronary artery normal. Left c wire biased down septal perforating branch of the LAD. Thrombus Far field of the vessel (9 to 1 o’clock positions) drops out and is n erosclerotic plaque in the LAD—visualized by OCT at the 9 to 10 o branch. (F) Further ruptured atherosclerotic plaque in the LAD—v down a septal perforating branch.

Adaptive ranging for optical coherence tomography.

At present, optical coherence tomography systems have a limited imaging depth or axial scan range, making diagnosis of large diameter arterial vessels and hollow organs difficult. Adaptive ranging is a feedback technique where image data is utilized to adjust the coherence gate offset and range. In this paper, we demonstrate an adaptive optical coherence tomography system with a 7.0 mm range. B...

High - Speed High - Resolution Subsurface Defect Detection in Ceramics Using Optical Gating Techniques

Optical gating techniques and in particular optical coherence tomography (OCT) have recently been used as a noninvasive probe in the medical field[1 ,2] and as a nondestructive probe in material analysis[3-5]. Indeed, any medium which has some light penetration below the surface can potentially be analyzed with OCT. The depth at which a signal can be detected depends both on light absorption an...

Clinical Applications of Optical Coherence Tomography in Ophthalmology

Assessment of the peripapillary nerve fiber layer and macular thickness can be determined in ophthalmology using optical coherence tomography (OCT). Decreased nerve fiber layer thickness and macular ganglion cell thickness in optic nerve ischemia have been correlated with visual field loss. OCT allows deep optic nerve head evaluation which helps understand pathophysiology of diseases.  Furtherm...

Second-order optical coherence tomography: deeper and turbulence-free imaging

The superior resolution of optical coherence tomography (OCT) with respect to alternative imaging modalities makes it highly attractive, and some of its applications are already in extensive clinical use. However, one of the major limitations of OCT is that the tomographic picture it generates is depth-limited to approximately 1 mm in most biological tissues. This is mainly due to the spatially...

Optical coherence tomography for the identification of musculoskeletal structures of the spine: a pilot study

Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is a complex three-dimensional deformity of the spine requiring in severe cases invasive surgery. Here, we explore the potential of optical coherence tomography (OCT) as a guiding tool for novel fusionless minimally invasive spinal surgeries on an ex vivo porcine model. We show that OCT, despite its limited penetration depth, may be used to precisely locate...
